The Adventure Ship - March 25, 1998

Although people around the world love to see the tragic voyage of the Titanic, our Patrol Leaders, Bonita Ip and Anthony Law, and
Assistant Patrol Leaders, Jason Lam, Curtis Ip and Gregory Tang, of the 1st Hong Kong Canadian Scout Group survived the confidence-building trip to sea with 43 other Hong Kong scouts last weekend.

They set sail when the temperature was fast dropping and enjoyed the "Disciplined Entertainment" on board The Adventure Ship
- Huan.  Being regarded as members of the crew, they shared the operational routines such as anchoring, floor scrubbing, cooking and patrolling as night guards (two hours per patrol) to watch out for pirates.

They would not forget themselves as scouts in the flying trapeze swinging from one side of the ship to the other in the blazing
wind ... the balancing walk on the rail of the ship, free handed ... the nautical knowledge and navigation theory acquired ... the steering of the rubber speed boat ... the early morning swim around the ship in the chilling cold sea
in Sai Kung ... those programs were not designed just for them, but for also the disabled ones who had never imagined that they could
...

Even now, they could still hear the life supporting, repeated encouragement from the captain ringing in their ears "I'm not going to let you die ..."
