1st HKCSG Development History

Leadership Council

The Group Committee is essentially responsible for providing service and support to the Section Scouters and providing for quality programs on behalf of Scouts Canada. Through the Group Commissioner, the Group Committee provides the administrative foundation for the Section Scouters to do their job.

Scouter Development and Training

In Canada, training is provided by their local Councils. As 1stHKCSG is a long way from their home base, their Scouters took training and became Trainers. In 2000, we brought in Trainers from Toronto to run our WBI and WBII courses. Then in the summer of 2001, a team of 6 leaders went to Toronto to take the Trainer Development I Course. Upon returning to Hong Kong, we started planning and running our own WBI courses for the Colony, Pack and Troop annually.

These Trainers also provide Training courses (on top of Scouts Canada’s mandatory on-line training courses) and Skill Workshops locally for Section Scouters’ personal development and team building.
